Builders - Xerox Workplace Cloud

SDC Builders increased employee productivity while reducing the number of HelpDesk tickets.

Situation

SDC, an innovative building firm founded by surveyors, designers, and constructors, faced challenges with outdated print infrastructure while pursuing a cloud-first strategy.

Xenith helped them transition away from traditional on-site print systems. To modernize further, SDC implemented integrated document management using Microsoft technologies—specifically SharePoint for storage and Microsoft 365 for collaboration—enabling standardized sharing across 10-12 project sites.

The Solution

Xenith assessed the client's environment to identify the number and type of multifunctional devices (MFDs) required. Xenith implemented a unique, fully cloud-hosted solution across all their new Xerox AI MFDs, delivering both secure print management via secure release and cloud-hosted service and fault reporting, without requiring any on-site print infrastructure. The new cloud-reliant solution didn’t compromise security or IT service reporting across the 12 sites. Xenith installed the best tools and integrated a better work experience for SDC professionals.

Resolution

As SDC grows and new sites are opened, new devices and users can be added to the solution within minutes. There is no need to register on any local area network or domains.

This has reduced IT service tickets, allowing IT to focus on business-critical projects and save valuable time.

Additionally, there is an increase in productivity from business users. As users start working within the solution (from anywhere), they can register via the cloud solution on any new device in minutes.

Outcomes

To scale for growth, end users are automatically enrolled with the standard Intune deployment, which includes the cloud print management application. This approach is far superior to past methods, which required the installation of manual print queues for each end-user machine. Additionally, it enhances the security of all hard-copy files, as they can only be printed through a secure release.
