NFP Professional Association

Situation

The Association procured new laptops; however, the value they produced was greatly diminished when printing.  The new laptops were independently speedy but were forced to print via print queues from an old legacy print infrastructure.

They asked Xenith to move them to a cloud environment, increasing user access and improving document security and productivity.

The Solution

  • Developed a cloud strategy with Microsoft Azure
  • Enabled Printix cloud management
  • The Association hosted 2 print servers + Tungsten (Kofax) ControlSuite

    Server 1
    Deployed Equitrac + Printix redirector

    Server 2
Deployed Autostore (scan to OneDrive) + Output Manager for guest printing
  • Printix deployed the print queues to Citrix (legacy system + apps) and end-user laptops

    Redirector passed jobs into Equitrac

Printix easily managed and deployed legacy and complex HP print driver settings for legacy app.

Resolution

We streamlined an old legacy infrastructure into a hybrid, modern, secure print solution accessible to all users, the workforce, and community members.  Helpdesk tickets, complaints, and print issues were resolved, and the IT Director was delighted with all the happy and now “safe” users.

Outcomes

Modernised legacy IT systems to deliver increased security and greater access for all users. Improvements in technology were a prerequisite to a professional association with approximately 200,000 members, including students from almost 150 countries.

Members and IT demanded capabilities to standardise and secure access to print solutions.  The challenges IT faced were different systems, platforms, and hardware devices needed to serve the association’s workforce to its members and student body.
